Discovering the Blogger in Gilly

Happy Monday beautiful people!

I thought I’d start my first blog post (ever) by explaining my journey towards this very post!

To sum it all up I have one word: QUARANTINE. It’s June 29th, 2020 and I have been working from home since March 14th. I have been working as a staff accountant for 4 years now which means that the 9-5 life is all I know! 😩

As for many, there was complete disruption to my routine this year. I was forced to slow down and have extra alone time at home – which actually turned out to have a very positive side! A positive side that includes being more present, taking on more hobbies, and spending quality time with my family.

I’ve always wanted to start a blog because I have A LOT to say. Lol! But real reason is because I’ve been through so many crazy situations in my life that I’ve always joked with people about how I need to write a blog because these things only happen in movies! Haha – but all jokes aside, what I want to say is that I have OVERCOME all of the obstacles thrown my way and I want to share what I’ve learned with you so that one less person in this world doesn’t have to struggle like I did.

I’ve been contemplating on creating a blog for yeaarrsss and there were 2 main reasons I why waited so long:

1.)I did not think people would want to read it!

I really did not think people would like to read it! But I had to remind myself that I have surpassed my expectations in many areas of life. Although I felt fear and doubt, I still pressed forward and have proudly been able to accomplish more than I could ever imagine! This blog will be one of those accomplishments as well.

2.) Busy-ness

I have been SO BUSY ever since my eldest daughter was born that I never really placed my attention into blogging even though I had been contemplating starting one! I would never write down a to-do list so it was always on the back burner.

With my extra time alone during the stay-at-home order, I learned how to do cornrows and French braids on my daughters’ hair (they look SOOO CUTE) and those were things I wanted to learn since I was 8 years old! I also have been able to cook up new dishes and experiment in the kitchen.

Finally, I realized that this was the right time to start my blog. I’m so excited to share all my target hauls (I basically LIVE at target you guys, like they really need to hire me as a representative), my Amazon finds, my motherly wisdom, my hilarious jokes, my postpartum fitness tips, my cute outfits and so much more of you’ll allow me!

My mission with this blog is to provide you with a sprinkle of joy, inspiration, and comfort with every word. ❤️

Much love, you’re new bestie. Gilly 😘
