Yes, I finally did it people! I’ve decided to let my curly hair grow back out! I have been getting keratin treatments done since 2015 and honestly I have been wanting to grow my curls out for that long as well. The only problem is that once you do a keratin treatment, some parts of your hair remain straight. When I noticed that had happened to me I just decided to keep straightening my hair whenever I saw that my roots were growing. I was in too deep. It takes courage to let your natural hair grow back out. It also takes a lot of patience and those were two things I DID NOT HAVE at the time. I was a single mother and working full-time so growing my hair out would just mean added stress. Being home during quarantine allowed me to feel comfortable enough to let my hair grow out! The process has been dragging. I’m now on the 7th month of my hair transition and the curls are about 4 inches long. That’s the thing about curly hair too, even though it may have grown a lot it doesn’t seem like it because it springs back up….. It springs back up! Lol
I will be sharing the transition with you all! I can’t wait to see a full head of curls again one day and I will definitely be documenting my BIG CHOP (the last haircut that cuts away any previous chemical treatment).
I’m estimating that I will take about a year and a half before I do it but you never know! There are certain things you can do to make your hair grow faster. I also discovered this awesome product that is accelerating the growth was well. I will write another post about this soon! Anyway keep following along to see the end result! If you’re contemplating the change, I say do it!!! You won’t regret it, I promise.
